Where do I belong? A question I have been

pondering since my eyes first met dawn.

Is it a location, person, or destination?

Unfortunately, it's difficult to deliver any answer at all.

Do I even know the one referred to as 'I'?

For I feel myself being tugged between the lines.

No longer the kid I've been, though still woven like twine,

where life meets time.

Also not quite the person I'm destined to be.

Even though it taunts me.

So for now I'll live between the lines,

since it is the journey that is time.

In the moments that make me feel like breaking into song

that is where I will find I belong.

When my best friend's eyes meet mine,

and we laugh till we think we might cry.

When I hear the wind speak with the leaves on the trees

and then it whispers through my hair, a cool breeze.

I look to the sky, when beautiful purple and pink agree,

a reminder that life is about those special moments in between.
