My Rainbow

Me

I am a child of my ancestors.

traditional

the colors of chocolate and brown

Crimson is the color of the words that come from their mouths,

when they fight for justice and the right for us all to be truly free.

My happiest moment is when I was born on this Earth.

I am copper.

I am beautiful.

I am African Violet, like the Africans who birthed others before me.

The person I love most is my Grandpa.

He is antique bronze.

As he fought for this country and everyone’s rights,

he wears the colors of red, blue, and white,

as scars on his back

fighting for the rights of so many of us.

I love driving in the car,

hanging my head out of the window,

and breathing in the fresh pale blue air.

Being scared is the color of dark sienna.

I'm smart like artichoke green.

Fuchsia runs in my veins

and royal blue fills my soul.

I feel yellow when I am happy.

I shine like the yellow Sun.

As I travel this road called life, I am every color in my rainbow.

I am cocoa…

and crimson…

and lavendar…and indigo…

and saffron…

and emerald….

White and Black are so many colors mixed together and that is also me!

In between are the colors of emotions that set me free.

My life is like a palette.

All of my colors live in me!
