Poem

2024

How will I know I’ve made it? The end is near.

Day by day the end imposes upon my everyday life.

I live with my thoughts full of fear.

Doing all that is necessary to achieve success.

Yet I stumble wandering through the dark.

Uncertain in my abilities I struggle to please.

I balance between fear and excitement.

For the end is closer than ever.

Learning a familiar tongue I practice.

Seeing my glimpses of the Döner stand.

It’s Berlin, a future I deserve.

Finally I sleep through the night.

Tomorrow I will know because I run like I am flying.

Today I stand tall to celebrate the end. Or is it the beginning?
