Poem

2024

You say the sky's the limit,

All that life permits.

But I see beyond the blue,

A universe waiting, a realm to pursue.

A small idea ignites the night,

Turning dreams into radiant flight.

It begins as an ember, a red-hot coal,

Burning to become a flame, out of control.

A flame of passion illuminating the night,

Until it catches, begins to ignite.

Dreams find their way through struggles and strife,

Hope for love, for a better life.

Martin Luther King fought for equity,

His dare to dream, utter tenacity.

He brought people together, made them unite

Found a light in the darkest of nights.

He spoke words that rang true,

Never caving, always believing in red, white, and blue.

Malala’s fight for education was the same.

It began with a dream for women's name.

Though trials of oppression came her way,

She spoke her mind every day.

She picked up a pen and began to write,

About her dreams, of them taking flight.

The Wright brothers allowed us to explore the Earth,

Creating pathways for other invention’s birth.

Sally and Neil did the same,

Yet Earth alone was not their aim.

Their dreams soar even higher,

Their passion for space, a burning desire.

So what do dreams do to you?

They make you catch, make you pursue.

Dreams are the sparks that ignite revolutions.

They inspire us to reach beyond our range.

But remember, my friend,

The sky's not where dreams end.

It's where they take flight,

Boundless and bright,

Igniting our path to infinite heights.

So dream without fear,

Chase without end.

For in the pursuit,

New worlds extend.

Beyond the sky, to infinite height.

Dreams are the dawn, the everlasting light.
