My Favorite Cultural Food
Color, aroma and taste are emphasized in my cultural food.
Traditional food in different festivals are featured.
The dessert Tangyuan are being offered in many occasions.
Glutinous rice balls served in clear broth,
Soft and chewy texture with sweet or salty fillings.
Big or small, black or white, the flavor just fits all.
The name itself symbolizes togetherness sand completeness,
Also bringing joy and happiness into one’s life.
During Dragon Boat Festival, Zongzi is indispensable.
Wrapped with bamboo or reed leaves release a distinct scent,
Stuffed with salty meat filling will leave your stomach fulfilling.
Mooncake is served during Mid-Autumn Festival.
Salty duck egg yolk resembles a round moon like gold.
Luxurious lotus paste gives you a sweet and nutty taste.
Soft on the outside and gooey at the inside will make you surprised.
Savory or sweet, it will always be the perfect treat.
Tangyuan, Zongzi and Mooncake excite your taste buds like you never could.
These delicious food help me experience my culture like I never would.
Through which I can find my root.
